Born in North Carolina, Jean has over 25 years experience in writing and 10 years speaking. She has written regularly for blogs and magazines from North Carolina to New Orleans, has ghostwritten for clients from the United States to the United Kingdom, has published 4 books and contributed to two: "Heart of a Toastmaster" and "My Dirty Little Secret Before Success." She has been a guest on The JoyStream TV and hosted the radio show, Celebrate Life!
In her most renowned book, "She Has A Big ‘But’! Get Past Your Excuses & Realize Your Dreams," she shares 15 stories of women from diverse backgrounds who chose to overcome their big ‘buts’ (their excuses to fail) and found success. Jean's speaking topics incorporate the theme of getting past circumstances and excuses and finding joy, inner peace and success, personally and professionally. She brings a message of hope to organizations and individuals around the country.
In 2009, Jean won first place in the Alamance Reads writing contest with her short story, Warm Springs. In 2011 she was nominated as a Top Ten Business Woman in the American Business Women’s Association. As a speaker, Jean has achieved the highest designation in Toastmasters International, the DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster), was awarded the Helen Yandle Award and is the 2012 District 37 Evaluation Champion.
In speaking to civic, church, charitable and business organizations, her specialty is motivation and inspiration with a splash of humor.
